Identical to standard ceramic preparation, and equally non-negotiable — the graphene particles bond into the same SiO₂ matrix and require the same clean, corrected surface.

  1. Iron Decontamination Wash

    Removes embedded metallic particles from the clear coat surface before any coating work begins.

  2. Clay Bar Decontamination

    Removes all bonded surface contamination that washing misses.

  3. Paint Correction

    Paint correction is the controlled removal of a thin layer of clear coat through machine polishing, using a rotary or dual-action machine polisher with graduated abrasive compounds — starting with a more aggressive cut compound to remove defects, then refining with lighter polishes to restore gloss. Modern automotive clear coats are typically 40–80 microns thick, and swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation sit within the top 5–15 microns of that layer, which is why correction can remove them without compromising the coat. Recommended for all graphene applications, given the long-term commitment — defects sealed under a 5–7 year coating are permanent.

  4. IPA Panel Wipe-Down

    Strips all polish residue and surface oils before coating application.
